About Community:

Elgin, Texas is a rapidly growing suburb located roughly 19 miles east of Austin along U.S. Highway 290, straddling both Bastrop and Travis counties. Officially incorporated in 1872 as a railway hub, the city balances historic small-town charm with suburban expansion. Officially designated as the Sausage Capital of Texas by the Texas Legislature in 1995, Elgin produces over 3 million pounds of hot sausage annually. Legendary local barbecue spots like the Southside Market & Barbeque have anchor status here.  Elgin offers numerous neighborhood spaces including Elgin Memorial Park and Morris Memorial Park, complete with local greenbelts, disc golf courses, and sports fields. Elgin ISD serves more than 5,000 students in this community across seven active campuses.
